Rhythms of the World

Rhythms of the World started life as a small, annual, fund raising event for Oxfam. Based in the centre of a small market town - Hitchin in North Herts - it grew over the years to become a much respected world music festival that attracted enormous crowds and artistes from around the globe. As a result, it had to move into  the (rather beautiful) grounds of local hotel and conference centre The Priory.

You may not know the names of all the acts but here you'll be able to see an unbelievable range of music, from bluegrass to blues to 50's jive to Indie bands to stirring Celtic sounds; from the best of regional music coming out of Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia/New Zealand & the Americas to brand new British bands.

You (and the kids) will also be able to eat, drink, snooze in the sun, visit the adventure play area, have faces painted, watch a great range of dance acts/fencing/kick boxing on the open air stage, use a climbing wall, buy exotic clothes and even go to church on Sunday morning.

We go, of course, and we tell everyone we know and their families just how wonderful it is ... because it is! Check out www.rotw.org.uk and do try it ... you'll get hooked.
